About us
Little Picassos provides a safe and nurturing place in which to: create, learn about art, artists and art history. Every child is talented and gifted, every child is celebrated and loved.
As research has consistently shown, children who have experienced poverty and trauma can benefit greatly by being afforded a safe space to explore their feelings, and grow their sense of self. Art enrichment has also been shown to enhance a child’s academic performance.
How it all began:
Little Picassos began as a volunteer program in association with The Road Home, an organization which helps homeless families regain their footing. It became clear that children who are homeless, or otherwise economically challenged, do not have access to enrichment classes, including art enrichment. Little Picassos aims to level the playing field for these children and their families.
